The glitch
An education news site in Bangladesh isn't one feed, it's dozens: BCS results and gazette news, university admission circulars, job postings, scholarship listings, campus incidents, sports, politics, district-level news that only matters if you're actually from that district. Readers don't want the whole simulation, they want it filtered down to their own campus and their own district, no wading through the rest. And it all has to keep publishing, every single day, at volume, without the system slowing down or the newsroom's own workflow getting in its own way.
Jacking in
Maintained and extended a CodeIgniter 4 build running a dual-database architecture, keeping content operations separated from heavier reporting and traffic load so publishing stays fast even as the archive keeps growing underneath it.
Built personalized filtering so a reader can select their campus type (public university, medical college, engineering college, and more) or their division and district and get a feed scoped to exactly that, instead of one undifferentiated wall of everything.
Structured dozens of content sections (admission news, education administration, politics, sports, health, crime and law, world news, science and technology, entertainment, economics, personality profiles, religion, book and library) so each one runs as its own landing page, archive and read-more flow.
Shipped supporting systems around the core news engine: a video gallery, a photo gallery, a standalone career subdomain, an English-to-Bangla text converter, and a prayer-times utility page, each pulling from the main site's content and design system instead of existing as a bolted-on afterthought.
Handled ongoing bug fixes and feature work on a live, publicly-read news site, where changes ship without downtime and without ever breaking an existing article URL, because those links are already indexed, already shared, already load-bearing.
